To this end, the company decided to establish Guangzhou Shipyard International Ship CAD / CAM Systems (GSI-CAD/CAM), and as Guangzhou Shipyard International CIMS (GSI-SCIMS) of the first projects to implement.
From 1992 to 1993 period, GSI-CAD/CAM project has just been set up, Guangzhou Shipyard International on CAD / CAM software and hardware for a wide range of research and demonstration, and finally decided to DEC hardware platform used by the U.S. company ALPHA models, application support platform with Sweden KCS's TRIBON system. 2, Guangzhou Shipyard International CAD / CAM system
I was in July 1994 the company introduced a CAD / CAM software ─ ─ TRIBON support system, the software from Sweden KCS (KockumComputerSystemAB) develops, is a set of design and construction of ships for the aid of computer software integrated systems, but also a more advanced and practical expert system. GSI-CAD/CAM this as a platform, developed with GSI characteristics of CAD / CAM system. GSI-CAD/CAM system consists of four sub components:
(1) hull design subsystem

(3) tube design subsystem
Pipe design system, including schematic design and drawing of tube, tube modeling, production information generating and outputting the main module. Schematic design and drawing of tube, mainly through human-computer interaction module to draw the tube diagram, the module provides a number of professional drawing tools, can greatly improve the efficiency of drawing. Not only the output tube diagram, pipe production plans, pipe installation drawings, and the list can provide data, such as valve parts list, bill of materials and other tubes.
(4) cable design subsystem
Cable design subsystem can be divided into cable schematic design and cable lofting two modules. Schematic design is similar to tube schematic design, by way of human-computer interaction design, the system can output cable schematic diagram and the list. Cable Layout is conducted on three-dimensional graphical environment and provide the relevant block, pipe and other specialized equipment transferred, electrical equipment and its support arrangement, composition cable path, brackets and through, check the cable connection path case , cable laying, check the cable path and so on.

GSI-CAD/CAM existing system hardware configuration is: a server (model ALAPHSERVER41005/533), the memory capacity of 1024MB, external memory capacity of 56GB. The entire system is equipped with 45 sets of graphics workstations (model ALAPHSTATION2004/233 and DEC3000/300, ALPHASTATION2004/266, 5 / 533), each configuration memory 64M or 128M, external memory 1GB, 2GB or 4.3GB. In order to facilitate graphics processing, each workstation is equipped with a 21 inch, 19 inch, 17-inch large screen display, and with a graphics accelerator card.
