Intel new ultra-broadband solutions


Intel recently announced an ultra-wideband (UWB) Solutions: Wireless UWB Link 1480 MAC

This technology can be combined with third-party vendor products to provide full functionality over a broadband connection, and manufacturers can use it for a variety of devices.

UWB is a short-range wireless data transmission technology.It can transmit very low power high bandwidth (up to 480Mbps).Coupled with the wireless USB interface, it is widely used in printers, computers, digital cameras and portable media devices.Wi-Fi up to 54Mbps, Bluetooth is only 3Mbps.

Intel Emerging Business Unit, said Rich Wykoff, general manager: "UWB allows users to transfer much faster than the previous data."

Intel hopes UWB technology was first used in notebook computers on the ExpressCard and USB software dog.
