Intel has said it would invest research funds in Europe nearly 12 million U.S. dollars, for graphics and visual computing research.
According to foreign media reports, the money will be in the next five years as the University of Saarland, Germany as part of project funds, it will be Intel's history of the European R & D project funding record.
Intel Chief Technology Officer and Senior Fellow Justin Rattner (Justin Rattner), said Intel has been in Saarland University and the public the world's top researchers for many years, working together to study the visual computing.
Ratner added that in view of the current study of visual computing technology has become increasingly important role in the establishment of a new institute to expand our co-operation with other research institutions is essential.
Intel said the project will focus on improving the image processing methods to improve the user interaction in everyday computing method and image analysis methods and so on. Intel hopes the project can be widely used in games, medical imaging, financial analysis and other fields.
Intel also revealed that long-term development in the future, the company will carry out one trillion computing research, the study will seek to create next-generation data centers and applications of the platform.
